So in my last post, I talked about the relationship between the body and the mind and the fact that I have launched my new series called Just B Well. If you missed that post, read the Mindfully Sick (part 1) post
, which will help in you understanding what I’m talking about here.
As previously explained each of us have 7 main energy centers in our body, which are aligned along the spinal column. Today’s post is about the first energy center located at the base of the spine and commonly referred to as the ‘Root’ energy center. This energy center is associated with our need for survival and for security i.e shelter, food, money and family. Typically when our ‘root’ center is balanced we are financially sound, in harmonious relationships and relatively comfortable with life. When there is an imbalance or a depletion of energy in the center, the body begins to display symptoms that call for us to take action in our lives and minds to get us to re-balance.
If you suffer repeatedly from some of the following common symptoms then the ‘root’ center is one of the areas of your energy that is depleted or disturbed:
Addictions and addictive behavior.
Skin disorders, acne break-outs, rashes or eczema
Migraines or head aches
Lower back pain or back aches
Poor circulation in the legs, swollen ankles, cold feet or frequent leg cramps.
Ailments like these typically reveal on a subconscious level issues pertaining to insecurity, anger, rage or resentment. Hurt and pain is associated with these symptoms and reveal that there is a need to let go of the past, but fear or bitterness stops you from letting go. Guilt can also be present in your life which can make you feel like a hypocrite or like you lack integrity, courage or convictions. There is a possibility that you feel stuck with your life and with your ideas that at times you may feel like you are unable to flow with life. Financial uncertainty also can present itself and cause tension that can lead to any or more of the above symptoms.
You may be able to immediately identify with some of these life issues or you may feel like this has nothing to do with why you are experiencing some of these symptoms. However I would like to point out that very often it is in our subconscious minds that most of these issues present themselves and as such call for a deep inner inspection of our lives. If you are the skeptic, I would implore that you take some time out and really think about where you have had unresolved challenges, be open minded and take an observatory scan of your life thus far, you may very well find that some of what I have mentioned above are in fact quite relevant to you.
Now, just to be crystal clear here, of course I’m not suggesting that the slightest breakout or headache now and then means that your life is upside down! But if truly these symptoms cause you concern and stress then these are some areas for you to consider looking at in your life which might then require you to make certain changes or address certain issues that will help you live happier and without so much illness.
At the end of this series I will share with you an effective way for you to relieve some of these physical and emotional symptoms, but until then, I would absolutely love to hear your views on this.
